Projenics name Etymology

Projenics = project + genesis + science of

Etymologically, the word "projenics" is comprised of the latin prefix "pro-" meaning in front of or forth, followed by "-je-", which is a form derived from the Latin verb "jacere" that refers to to throw forward, to extend, then the Latin suffix "-ic" meaning pertaining to, belonging to or connected to, as well as the Greek suffix "-ics" which now denotes the body of matters, facts, knowledge and principles and hence a science. In this case "-ic" is taken as part of the suffix "-ics" for purposes of achieving deeper insights as well as an easier understanding of the etymological origins of the word.

In the creation of the name of the company, one has taken into consideration the word for being produced, coming into being, to originate, which is the Greek-derived root "gen-" from geno- or genesis. This is also wherein the letter "-n" within "Projenics" originates. We also notice that the pronounciation of the company name were the same had there been a "g" instead of "j" in the spelling (as in Progenics).

Thus, the word "projenics" stands for the science of extending forth from origins or from what has been produced (from the existent level of knowledge).
