Process / System Modeling and Simulation

Modeling, simulation and analysis compose the process of creating and experimenting a physical, chemical, biological or economical process with a computerized mathematical model. The mathematical model is transposed into a computer program based on a particular strategy. The model, the program, the computer, and the interface devices for input / output and measuring of the process parameters represent the components of a simulator.

Modeling, simulation and analysis of a process / system are conducted for the following purposes:

  • Gaining insight into the process / system operation;
  • Testing new concepts;
  • Developing operations or resource strategies to improve the system performance;
  • Gaining information without disturbing the real process / system.

Based on the acquired information, a complementary computer program (eg. based on an evolutionary algorithm) leads to optimization of the process parameters when certain performance criteria are prioritized.

Here are a few examples, Projenics has developed and implemented:

  • Software for calculating the cost of custom-designed machines / equipment with various configurations and large range of specifications;
  • Material processing and separating in combine harvesters;
  • Modeling of mechanical process of the disc mills;
